Our
History
In 1997/98 Volo Insieme Association has promoted and carried out the
following events:
"PEACE NOTES" (February97).
Introduction of 1997's programme, a concert and readings on solidarity
themes performed by the primary school "Maria Montessori" pipils.
BASIC ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSE,
ITALIAN CULTURE ORIENTATION COURSE FOR FOREIGN ADULTS (February and
October):
Partecipants: 35 overseas
people coming from several countries like Togo, Nigeria, Poland, Bosnia,
Albania, Morocco. The same courses have been offered to teen-agers by
the Secondary School of San Mauro Pascoli and Savignano sul Rubicone.
PEACE SMOKE SIGNALS (January/April))
Discussion and working meeting
for secondary school students living in the surrondings on the following
topic:
"Friendship is a solidarity
bridge between nations: let's build bridges to become friends with people
from all over the world".
CHILDREN WITHOUT DREAMS:
exploitation and complicity (April/May)
Series of meetings attended
by personalities nationally and internationally committed to stop children
exploitation.

Filtea/Cgil, Mr Primo Battistini, missionary in Brazil; Mr Tarik Aziz,
Kurdish poet and some members of Ecpat and Unicef organizations).

for children (May)
Afternoon of games
based on the exchange of old, unused stuff.
OSPITALITY FOR A LITTLE
GIRL WHO NEEDED HEALTH CARE
Ospitality and medical support
for Alisa, a little girl from Bosnia suffering from a sight disease
who needed clinic check-up and care at Rizzoli Hospital in Bologna.
W OUR SQUARE Let's play
by building new toys. (July)
Five evenings dedicated to
simple toy realization with pupils as protagonists, particularly those
with social relation difficulties.
2° FAMILY OSPITALITY
(August/September)
22 pupils and 2 teachers
have been hosted by some families of San Mauro Pascoli, Gatteo, Cesena,
Roncofreddo. Solidarity initiative for the children suffering from the
war in Bosnia. This initiative has been approved by Foreign Minors Committee
and by the Presidency of the Minister Council.
RUN WITH US - 3° edition

Solidarity running competition
supported by the municipality of San Mauro Pascoli.
MARCH FOR PEACE - Perugia/Assisi
(October)
For an economy of justice.
February '98 - Symbolic Union Party with the town of Gracanica
(Bosnia) - Sala Gramsci.
Meeting with the mayor of
San mauro Pascoli and the mayor of Gracanica to discuss a friendship
and support project between the two towns.
March "Algeria in our heart"
images from Algeria shown in San Mauro Pascoli municipal building (with
the assistance of local OO.SS and Centro Donna "Arcobaleno" of Gatteo).
March "Knowing Algeria"
conference on the dramatic political situation in Algeria - Sala Gramsci
(speeches by two Algerian women).
March - The role of women
in the democracy-building process in Algeria". Guest: Giuliana Sgrena
(Il Manifesto). Speaker: Massimo Tesei. Meeting held at Sala Consiliare
S.Angelo- Gatteo . (with the contribute of Centro Donne
"Arcobaleno" and local OO.SS).
April - Peace Signals Award:
"Is your town a friend of yours?"
Exhibition with the paintings
and written works realized by primary and secondary school students
of Forlì province. Sala Gramsci - San Mauro Pascoli and at downtown
shops from 1 to 10 May. Sponsored by local shopkeepers.
May - cooperation in organizing
the running competition "Giro della Torre" promoted by the running association
of San Mauro Pascoli.
May TUG-OF-WAR. Street
Market for children (Piazza Battaglini, San Mauro Pascoli)
Afternoon of games
based on the exchange of old, unused stuff. Focus on the recycle culture.

AVIS)

Evenings thought to play
together especially with handicapped children.
August/September Ospitality
for children from Gracanica/Lukavika (Bosnia), which have been seriusly
damaged by the recent war. A 10/15 day happening which involves families
from San Mauro Pascoli and the surronding towns.
